A few weeks ago, when Hot Toys announced the Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse Spiderman 2099 1/6 Scale figure, many fans were confused and upset that, despite its high price tag, this toy looked too toy-ish.
Originally, Hot Toys debuted the new 1/6 addition with a full plastic mold. Many fans went to Twitter and other social media outlets to voice their concern, saying the figure looked too much like a toy, and looked cheap.
Hot Toys must have heard this discourse, though, and now this $250 figure is getting an upgrade.
As of June 20, 2023 Hot Toys has announced the Spider-Man figure will be getting a fully stretchable fabric costume upgrade, stating ‘This newly designed Spider-Man 2099 suit now made in highly stretchable fabric allows a full range of articulation, also features luminous reflective patterns to accentuate the character’s unique ability’.
